GO Mt. Charleston is a non-profit partnership between the US Forest Service and the Southern Nevada Conservancy, created to support public programs and stewardship of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA). Their education, volunteer, and outreach programs, as well as the official SMNRA Visitor Center, are free to the public thanks to generous donations from grants, sponsors, and visitors.
GO Mt. Charleston offers events year round for visitors to the mountain. Events include guided hikes, art workshops, science safaris and even snowshoe hikes in the winter. The Fall Festival is a popular outing where visitors can get together, learn about Mt. Charleston and enjoy cooking hot dogs and s'mores over a camp fire.
If you are coming up to the mountain, the visitor center is a great spot to stop and learn about the area's history, campground availability, current hiking trail conditions and upcoming events. If you want to volunteer, look no further. GO Mt. Charleston is always looking for volunteers to help on the mountain.
